I am of no help.. other than to say, why?I can't see anyone needing on oil cooler in this car..

I have all the parts to put a FMOC on my CC left over from when I sold my Passat, all I would need is 2 fittings. If I decide to jump the gun and go for it I would have to switch to a regular oil filter. Is there anything i should expect other than it getting messy when I take off the filter for an oil change? Is there anything special about our oil filters other than having a male thread on the end instead of a female?

Because the oil runs through the turbo and I want to keep the oil cooler to keep the turbo happy.

I just finished the install, no leaks or other problems but I am still curious........

I don't go to the track but for now it is my daily driver and I often get stuck in stop and go driving.
I took picts for a write up but it doesn't seem like there is any interest in this.

Can you post pictures of the install? It would help and maybe this could be added the FAQ.

There is some interest, posting the pictures would be good. How did you connect the cooler ? did you use a custom sandwich plate? Does it have an oil thermostat, to bypass the oil cooler flow when the oil is cold?

I will get started on a write up, below are some picts, as well as a few answers to your questions.
To connect it you can see what I had tig wlded together. I used the fitting from a stock CC filter cut at the base. I drilled it out slightly so the pipe for the oil filter for a B5.5 passat could fit inside. I would have taken pictures before i put it in but once it was in i couldn't get it out without damaging the threads. I can have an exact piece made for you for like $25-30 bucks.
I used a MOCAL sandwich plate that has a thermostat that i had laying around. You can get one for $100 and most likely piece the kit together for like $200 or so depending on the core, lines fittings etc.
Lastly, I had to shave the plate and the fitting to clear the 2 coolant pipes that run by the oil filter.
AND IT DOES CLEAR THE SUPPORT, BARELY
