    Hi everyone.

I just got back from Kissell Motorsport here in State College, PA. After buying a used Monster from them earlier this year, they invited me out to see them take the wraps off of the new bike.

When I arrived, they had the 1199 under a cover. Apologies in advance for phone pics.

After snacks and craft beer from Otto's next door they had us all gather round as the Tech went over the details and differences between the various trim levels. Basically the bike has 195 hp and weighs around 375 depending on options. There is no trellis frame on this one as the tech said that Ducati felt they had reached the limit of what they could do with that set-up. The "Superquadro" (oversquare) engine is the basis for the entire bike and the aluminum airbox served as the attachment point for the forks.

All of the details on this bike are amazing and you really need to see one in person to take them all in! The exhaust was incredible. They started the bike up and it sounded better than any Duc I've ever heard. It was loud but not annoyingly so. The tech also said that wet-clutch tech has come far enough that they used it here so no dry-clutch rattle. I took a cell phone video that turned out to be garbage so I wont waste your time with that.

Head of sales got to take one out on a track and talked about the differences between the 1199 and his own 1198. The seat has been moved forward 30mm and the handlebars extended so the rider is more comfortable and can more easily control the bike. It is obviously lighter and more powerful than it's predecessor. He also said that the traction control really inspired confidence on a less-than-perfect track-day and he can see how that could translate to street riding.

They also unwrapped a mild custom Triumph Scrambler that they had been working on with the promise of more individualized bikes to come

All-in-all a really cool experience and I'm glad I was invited. I've got nothing but good things to say for this dealership.

where I went the bike was not plugged in.

Im sure they did that so the bike can have the lights on without the battery draining.

Im sure he would have said something about the bike being a hybrid that night.

Saw it at the track today. Sexy little bike, must be unreal to ride. Also love the option for electronic suspension adjustment, definitely a neat little upgrade. Glad to see they made the riding position more comfortable too...can't really think of anything negative to say, other than the bike is probably too good for mere mortals.
