Thread: Timing 2.0 digi 2

Just want to be sure I do this right. Set cam marks together set flywheel mark tdc. Then do I take off coolant sensor plug before I rev three or four times over 3000 rpm or after? I just changed a sprocket on my motor and I put belt but the mark they have on timing cover is not right so if so
Rome could explain what I should do from beginning to end it would be great. My Bentley covers two different engines and it's not very specific as to unplug coolant temp sensor before or after the 3000 rpm revs. Thanks

So I did it. The PO has three marks on flywheel. Which one do I use? I set it with engine running at 2500 rpm with the coolant temp sensor unplugged to the factory notch in the center of the hole in trans housing. Now at idle it has one of his painted marks in the "window". It also backfires a bit when I let my foot of the gas after driving. It doesn't do it if I'm just sitting in neutral revving engine.
