start at zero. make your adjustments from there once you verify your back up and running.

why did you get a cam gear? most people purchase them for a specific reason (torque, hi-end, lo-end, etc). that will dictate your adjustment.

    Not true.
Most people get them for fashion.

OP, many things about your motor will determine where you want it set. And some is just preference.
You have to experiment and decide where you want or need the power to be.

That is so true. I have a bunch hanging on my wall including a Franco, Dial-In-Cams, Oettinger, Drake and others.....oh you meant on their cars

Unless your heavily built or have a need, typically an adjustable cam is not needed unless your looking for a specific power band in a specific range.

Where they come in really handy is when you either mill the head, the block or both. Cam timing retards when the head or block is milled. You can reset your cam timing back to zero with an adjustable cam gear.

I will concede the point that most people do that, yes.

What you really left out is with out dyno tuning, you are purely guessing even if you have done the things you listed. The Ole' butt dyno aint that accurate

run it at 0. aftermarket cams are made to make power at certain revs adjusting the cam timing will f*ck all that up
