I got a 2.0. I was thinking of removing the airbox and going with a short ram intake. Might sound like a stupid question but do I need to get anything done other than obviously doing the switch?

Im going with a dry filter most likely K&N. Everyone seems to be positive about them and negative about oiled filters.

i've had my car since new in 2005. a drop in panel filter was installed within the first week and a cone filter/cai once i moved to arizona. both filters were and are oiled k&n's, no issues whatsoever, 120k on the clock as of now. there shouldn't be any problems as long as you don't over do it.

if your looking to increase horsepower just leave the airbox in and forget the cai. but if your going for sound then get the cai.

So was it a pretty simple switch? Is it just take out the airbox and put an intake in? Or is there a much more complicated side to it than that?

I could be mistaken but i believe you need to buy some kind of coupling so that you can clamp whatever new filter etc to the intake side of the maf (mass airflow sensor.)

Someone correct me if i'm wrong, too lazy to go look at engine bay
