Do it up, 949Racing 6UL would be perfect (15x8) for that, imo.

Though unless you're pushing some serious power, you're not going to get much of anything but more drag over a 205/50, well, more braking power but that goes along with drag.

not very helpful but once my current 205-40's wear out on my 8" wheels i will be getting 225's. more than likely will end up using these universal fender flares in some way (its a track car idc what it looks like)

Yeah... these would be for function on high hp car likely using bbs rm. Previously used 20550 on 7" wheel but doesn't seem like enough traction.

    225-45-15 is 23x8.9x15
    205-50-15 is 23x8.1x15
    195-50-15 = 22.7x7.7x15

Are those width figures the width of the treads contact patch or the total of the widest point of outer sidewall to outer sidewall?
Basically, do the measurements represent any sidewall "bulge"?

I believe the tire specs are supposed to be bulge-to-bulge, but I'm not sure how closely it correlates with the real world. Probably depends on the width of the wheel.

Not sure of all of the wheel offset specs, but can measure if it's really important....These are 225x45x15's on 15x7 original Panasport wheels with 8mm spacers in front and 5mm spacers in the rear. No fender work needed unless you want to go really low. These came on my son's 92 GTI when we bought it last summer....Super sticky Hankooks will just about make your eyes pop out in the curves... These are currently in the basement as my son likes his new borbet a's better...Hopefully these will fit on the MK1 GTI I'm looking to get soon...

Doesn't appear to be that bad at all to get these on. Any others?

I also would like to see more pictures. I would much rather have a nice large tire than being low.
I'd want 225 as a minimum all around, to hell with stretching. I was thinking 15x8s front and 15x9s in the rear.

So it is possible to fit a 245 on the rear? That's pretty damn huge, i bet it looks great from the back.
I think another problem is finding a tire that size. 235-245/45-50/15 are almost non exsistant

Here is a tire website that I've used a lot to compare different size tires and wheel offsets.
