Thread: AEB MK2 Swap cold start issues

  1. 04-28-2012 03:50 PM #1
I swapped an AEB into my CE1 MK2 and everything is perfect apart from one thing. When I start my car after it sitting for a few hours I have to press the throttle lightly to get it to start. If I dont it'll start and die instantly. As soon as its running its fine.

    Pics for clicks.

If you are on teh stock CIS pump, I would say it's the check valve for it.
It's allowing the gas to go back to the tank, and when you start the car, you will have less gas.
Try to turn the key maybe 3 times letting it prime, and test again, to see if it's better.

I'm having a similar issue with my 1.8t swap in my mk1. Is your motor idling properly after you get it started. Mine starts and then idles like this...

Any ideas? Once mine warms up it's good to go and idles normally. I think mine might be related to the coolant temp sensor.

Mine idles perfect and I will try priming the pump a few times prior to starting it. Thanks.
