I've been shopping around - is the Sound/Nav Beetle a temporary anomaly??? I'm thinking an inbetween version as sunroofs are starting up? I have always liked sunroofs, but after driving a 2.5 with roof last weekend in 107 degree heat I'm not so certain. That mesh screen was useless and the interior just baked. I think I'd be sorry here in Palm Springs.
A dealer has **almost** my dream beetle coming in: 2.0 T; Gray; Red/Black; Sound/Nav; Light Wheel Pkg; Sport Suspension; DSG (was leaning towards manual). I'm considering it.
Not really, my dealer offered me a 2.0 T; White; Red/Black; Sound/Nav; Light Wheel Pkg; Sport Suspension; DSG for 4k off sticker while i ordered the same car with sunroof
Is Sound/Nav temporary? If I DON'T want sunroof because I'll bake with it here should I grab the opportunity to get the rest of the goodies with leather?
The question is: is the only way to get leather Roof/Sound/Nav? And these Sound/Nav cars are exceptions? This might be the best choice for me.
I wouldn't give up my sunroof, and I'm not that far from PS. I had the sunroof tinted with dark (not limo) and it has made a difference! I agree that the mesh think is kinda weak. I'm going to come up with a sun shield just for the sunroof. My sunroof is definitely worth a small inconvenience!
1964 &1968 Ghias. 2003, 2007, 2009, and FINALLY 2012 Beetles!
Thanks Lucy. I had a 71 Ghia Convertible about 10 years ago. Was an awesome car but I saw some rust bubbles developing and didn't want to spend $6k redoing....maybe a mistake on my part in selling!
I go back and forth on the Beetle. Also have a Mini Cooper S Convertible that I will keep. I think I will order exactly what I want - which is totally loaded with a manual. I'll deal with the radient heat as you have.
Late last year VW changed their option packages. It used to be base, sound/nav, and sun/sound/nav. Now it's base, sun, sun/sound/nav. I believe the packaging changed as of October of last year.
