the next game I'll be playing. What game do you folks think I should get? I've narrowed it down to:
1. Red Dead Redemption: GOTY - I know I'm late to the party! Haven't played it but want to try it. The game hasn't really dropped in price much though37.99 at Amazon.
2. Shadows of the Damned - Mikami and Suda, enough said.
3. Catherine - Something I can play with my wife. She liked the demo and the story as did I.
4. Dark Souls - Heard Demon's Souls was fantastic but since I don't own a PS3 this should do me just fine.
5. Mushihimesama Futari - Japanese bullet hell. I have a soft spot for them.
6. Other - If you can think of something else let me know!
I can't make up my mind on what to buy! I would buy all of them (eventually) but disposable income in this economy is hard to come by.![]()

Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.

Dark Souls for sure- because you will keep playing the same levels and killing the same enemies over and over and over and over and over and over and over....
Note Red Dead can be extremely long if you take all the side quests.
The GOTY edition comes with Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare, which by itself is actually long enough to be a full standalone game.
So you will get plenty of playtime out of Red Dead even if you just stick to the main story lines (but that is a shame with so many cool things to do and see).
I guess it really depends on what type of game you like to play.
The Red Dead story really sucked me in, and that made a big difference for me.

Dark souls is the best.
Shadows of the damned was **** imo. It was also very short, I beat it in around 6 hours

Since it's come down to Dark Souls and Red Dead...
I had no patience for Dark Souls, I felt that if I kept playing I'd end up having to buy a new controller. It is challenging, and very rewarding when you succeed.
I really enjoyed Red Dead Redemption. It's the only Rockstar game I have a 100% completion in. There isn't much of a challenge here, but there is bound to be something you'll enjoy. I've spent a few hours with friends in the mountains just doing the hunting challenges.
My vote was for Red Dead Redemption.![]()

Red Dead Redemption is an awesome game. I couldn't put it down when I bought it (when it first came out). I played the story line right through in a couple of weeks. This thread reminds me that I should give it another go soon.

All I can say is I hate Red Dead Redemption.. It's sooo lame. 30 minutes in and I wasn't even playing the story quests anymore. Getting lost is better than playing it.
So...anything but that game.

Thanks for the comments guys. I guess I'll be playing Red Dead. Amazon pushed me over the edge as it's on sale. Im looking forward to it. I'm probably going to have to get Dark Souls soon though... as soon as I complete RDR![]()
