Have a 2006 tFSI Passat Est 3c0
Have been checking module codings following a bad loss of them during a CAN Gateway re-install
(don't ask!)

Back in 2009 had a workshop recall to cover the intake manifold flap motor issue which was a free
main dealer Flash update -- believe over in the US this was a change of flap motor...?

Have been following what'd been previously the engine coding ever since I got VCDS in October
of that year (engine adaptation fell out or had not been done correctly by dealer, dunno which
so bought VCDS to get it right myself):

Which is correct? Since byte 1 was originally set for Audi varients?
Seems to run a bit smoother now with no jerkyness in auto-changing from 1st to 2nd (but this could be
my subjective response)

Is it possible to find out who would've done the 2009 coding from the WSC?

Um, yeah... The byte 1 offers several options in coding helper: 04 for 3c and 0C for Audi varients.
For me (who only uses VCDS on occasions of need for my own vehicle -- I'm not a motor mechanic)
one is wrong the other right, right?

If not then are they just labels and immaterial to engine operation?
I'd understood that if a "No fault code found" comes up after an Autoscan then all's alright
Yet have found that if kickdown switch isn't adapted, Autoscan still reports "no fault code found"
messages. So now not so sure!

BTW, thanks for assist on throttle body and inlet manifold cleansing. The first I think I can do.
The second might be a bit beyond me so I'll get an indy for that
