So I installed my airlift slam series last night. I back out of the driveway and rolled maybe thirty feet down the road at less than 5mph and somehow the airbag got stuck on the tire and blew from rubbing. I need help! I have no clue how the bag would get stuck on the tire.
Also he other side bag is leaking air from the top strut tower cap.

These bags were not brand new but I purchased them with no rub marks or anything.

I contacted airlift via email but being Sunday I doubt I'll hear anything back until late tomorrow. Does anyone know of any shops in central Florida that would have any airlift struts? Is there a way to temporarily patch the bag enough to drive my car home from my friends?

Did you use the teflon paste that airlift supplied with the kit? Or did you use teflon tape?

When I installed my Airlift kit last weekend we used the teflon paste on the front bags only, but had a friend pick up teflon tape on his way over that we used for every other fitting. Once we turned the system on the front leaked like the Titanic. Had to take the front back apart to undo the fitting into the bag, get rid of the paste, and replace with tape. Haven't had a single leak since.

I would never try driving around before airing up and letting it sit for a while with the engine off to make sure the system doesn't leak at all.

I probably wouldn't recommend trying to patch the bag and drive anywhere... That sounds like a good way to blow it out while driving and wreck your car.
    oh herro.

I did air the system up. There is teflon tape on all the fittings. There was a leak coming out of the top of the bag, not the the fittings.

I'm not going to patch the bag. I'm just going to pony up the cash and get xl's and hopefully I'll be to get some help from airlift.

Hmmm.. If the leak was from the top of the bag and not the fitting and you bought them used, I would be talking to the person you bought them from.

The mk5 slam series rears have a common problem of rubbing if they aren't lined up perfectly or if the wheel is too tucked. I'm not an expert on mk5's though so search around, I know that you're not the first.

As for the leak, the fitting could have been overtightened and cracked right by the threads. It could also have a crack in the bag from age, or the clamp could have slipped causing the leak. Start spraying with soapy water to pinpoint exactly where it is.

Welp it's too late for the rubbing issue. It's very odd. The other side wasn't rubbing at all. Some how the tire got wedged in-between the bellows and rubbed a hole immediately. It had no real warning signs of it rubbing it just happened. The only thing it was doing was not airing up.

I tried the soapy water trick and it didn't show much. I tightened the fittings, and them played with the strut cap a little and the leak on the top stopped but then it started leaking from one of the rear fittings.

Yeah I've already talked to you guys and Airlift. Great help on both sides. I will remain n contact but my work week is from Tuesday-Friday, so usually I'm pretty busy on these days. But yeah I'll get a picture of the bag soon. My xl's should be in Friday from you guys. If there is a way I can send these back that'd be great. I wasn't the original purchaser but if I could sell them back so they could get re sleeved, or something to help offset the cost would be great.
