    A. Plasticoat the GTI symbol and tint the rear signals, then get black exhaust tips

    B. remove GTI and tint tails completely

    C. Leave GTI and tint the top portion and leave the bottom part clear, and stick with chrome tips.

    What would you all do?

A sounds ehhish, but may work.

B sounds , depending on what 'completely' means..

    C sounds dangerous..

Spent a little more money, went ahead and picked up the 034 group buy on the dogbone mounts for 44 bucks, will get them in and get some 1/4 times probably after the intake install, the dogbone mount install, and the H&R's installed.

Kinda want to get a catback time as well before the tune, then do Downpipe and Stg2, still leaning towards GIAC as well.

Looking at Malone for the Jetta Diesel tune, but seeing they changed the requirements to need the DSG tune now so, Hmmmm

Came home to the BSH intake, 034 Dogbone mounts, and some parts for my suburban, expecting a slew of things on monday as well though, still waiting on some damn parts for her Car and I ordered them Weeks ago, not to mention the ECS Tuning stuff, but whatever, they are just the slowest EVER at everything.

Threw the intake on - What are the "air pump" hoses for? BSH didn't include a filter for them and one of them pulled off?

Anwyay - pleased with both the sound, diverter valve noise, and the pull, it pulls harder up top for Sure - Also it would fall on it's face around 5800, now it pullls to around 6800 - so I fully expect to pick up some mph and some ET at the track with just the intake, hopefully Next Friday night I can get out there?

    Anyway, here's some pic's

She got AFE Catback for the TDI, H&R Sport Springs, and New South Pod and 0-35 TDI boost guage

My H&R Super Sport Springs came in today as well The 034 DogBone mounts came in like the day after I ordered them, so will do that when I put the suspension in, her's is first though, then mine

Pic's as soon as I start installing stuff

Can't wait for a track day after these parts are thrown on

Looking into the Malone tunes more today, only 8 more HP and 10 more Ftlbs between the DPF delete Stg2 and Stg1, for that minimal of a difference I may just keep the DPF on the TDI for alot longer, until i fails you know?

Anway, can't wait to get these fuggers lowered

Haven't had time to do the springs yet on both cars, Went to install her boost guage and exhaust but she decided she wanted to wait till her 1000 mile checkup - we are at 4500 miles on it!

Anyway- will put the AFE exhaust on, and get her boost guage in SOON!

In the meantime, the ECS 20 day later shipment that was In Stock showed up today.

Mine are the light tint, did headlights and foglights mainly for the protection, but the slight tint doesn't hurt either.

She has the Optic Blue, will install it in a a few days I hope.

Here are a few pic's, hard to tell because of the low light of the evening.

And a pretty badass tuned R32 at work that parked by me today, never got to talk to the guy, but he'll figure out I'm a Dubhead soon as I lower it LOL.

    Hey,

In regards to the hose that came off of your stock intake box. The one that you held up was just a drain hose for the stock box. The snorkel that goes down to the secondary air pump you can get a small filter to slip on that from the auto parts store for probably 10 bucks. I'd recommend it only because it sucks a lot of air on a cold start...not sure where the air goes, but if I were you I wouldn't want any gunk getting into the engine.

I just slipped the small filter on there, turned the top around 180 degrees, and zip tied it to another plastic hose that runs perpendicular to that hose.

    Good luck

For the BSH Race Intake how close is the MAF harness to touching the pipe? In all pics i see it looks like it's always resting on the pipe, which never seemed good to me.

I cut back the harness behind the battery box, nd then reversed the tip and I have about 1/3 inch of clearance to the pipe for the wiring, it's also in a loom so it's protected.

As for the drain pipe I figured that out shortly after, thanks though. Just put the little K&N filter on my air pump and took it ot the dealer for it's 90 day lookover, talked to the service manager about Stg2 etc and they are cool, the entire service department is tuned LOL

Taking her TDI in when we pick mine up and will get her DSG flash done and complain about the slight surging under normal driving - I think it's EGR related - she jsut told me about it about a week ago

Have some parts coming in and then more mod time

Sorry for the dumb question but how hot does the intake pipe get? I saw that you had to cut the loom to extend the MAF but from the pics it looks like the wire resting on the pipe would melt/fuse.

My forum name on all other forums is Bahndrvr and I havea request in heretofore getting changed but haven't heard back in a few weeks so well see. Thanks though this is my 5th VAG product but first ever new car. Want to do a lot but may end up going stg 2 for the remainder of the warranty then go 3071 in a few years instead of k04 now lol.

My best guess around 110 or 120 it is never too hot to not touch. It gets hotter when sitting with the hood open than when I'm driving...

At least you got to go overseas, I would love to go to Ramstien but the AF has no use for a developmental engineer outside of the states, but I'm on the west coast which I am happy with.

Got the clean bill of healt hon the cars yesterday so the next round of mods will commence. Hers: put cat back on, lower on her h&r Sports, boost guage install.

Mine will be lowered on the h&r super sports, tails are getting smoke lamin-x and some track time, same time I drop mine putting in the 034 bushings as well.

Think down pipe will be next power mod on mine as well. We all know what follows that

In the meantime, this is my latest mod. Doing a couple of drives, to Virginia in mid June and the La a week later so wanted a pocket gun, here's the latest addition

Have a belt clip comign for it and it fits perfectly inside the pants and is completly unnoticable

Got the optic blue on the front of her Jetta, looks great also got the rear smoke lamin-x in and it looks great on the GTI.

Pics after they are clean this damn tropical storm hit us, went out and came back stronger then came back across, lots of rain for me so no pics.

Can't wait to get the springs on and I have to install my under dash cubby before the road trips

Springs at the house I guess unless I can get a day off work

Optic Blue headlight Lamin-x on her's, and 6% on mine in the front, with Smoke on the rear tails.

Yes the cars are dirty, sorry we had a tropical storm hit us from 3 different angles litterally.
Sorry all Cell Phone pic's, but Android phones do pretty good

Finally got her exhaust on, it actually makes a good little sound under full throttle and picked up a few ponies for sure even though everyone say's the Diesel isn't going to pick up much it's noticable above 1800 rpms....

AFE in case you all forgot.

Mine, put the little under steering wheel cubby in for the trips and got another coat of wax on it, also pic's of it cleaned up with the lamin-x on it for the first time

    So here's some more pic's

So did the oil change at 5200 miles much to the dismay of the service rep but it was low and I was more comfy replacing than adding oil. It was expensive but on the trip up to Va I got 28.4 average, on the way back to Florida I averaged 30.4. I will be changing at 5k increments, I will also be getting a catch can setup sooner rather than later...

Have another road trip this weekend, may be in the GTI but hoping this one is in the Jetta honestly to see how far in the 40's we change the MPG not to mention we have the stock 16's to put back on it for the road trip

Best news is this trip drops my kids off for 3 weeks so I'll be able to do some of the mods that have been building up. Hope to get some more track times, the mounts and springs all straightened out in the next few weeks, have maintanence on my Bikes to do as well... My custom made surfboard gets done in a few weeks as well

Had a coupon and a few bucks so did a Ricer mod tonight and have to admit I Love it. Got Black Forest industries Powerhaus diverter valve spacer. Took about 30 minutes to throw in no CEL's can hear it going back into intake a bit and lovely blowoff sound now too! Some of you may hate it but can't wait for the stage 2 and more boost

Been hella shopping for downpipes not ready to commit to a brand yet but like AWE and 42dd...

One thing that frustrated me, slipped the clutch a little while getting on roll on lift tonight and holy **** this is a weak ass clutch, just a few second slip and smelt it for a good 30 seconds...

Got 8 passes at the drag strip tonight in 93 degree heat, and eventually 82 degree heat for last few passes, nothing significant to report - same times as when it was 25 degree's cooler at same track without the intake.

One thing I am reporting on was how nice the FRS looked, but how ****ty it performed...

Watched it run a few times - First pass vs me: Me BSH intake, 6200 miles 14.83 at 94.xx him 16.09 at 88 mph...

I thought it was a fluke, second pass by him - 15.98 at 88.xxx

Interior was nice, boxter engine was sweet, but way underpowered and slow on the 1/4...

Whatever, can't wait to see them running around boosted

Anyway - here's pics from the Track

Some from the rear autopop mod;-)

And talked about the plans for the GTI.

It's pretty firm, I'm getting a Christmas Bonus from work, and if it's over 1200 bucks i will be ordering the K04 kit at that time, so there will be no Stage 2 for me, or Stage 1, will save the money.

I will be doing S3 intercooler iwth the plans of doing the Twinercooler if necessary but the S3 will help me even now, and will be necessary here in Florida for the K04.

Going to do a full Turboback as well, but the rest will be saving for the Turb.

Might do the Whiteline anti lift setup if the new bushings from 034 don't do what I'm wanting them too, and the springs will be installed this Week I hope Just need the time

So, which K04 kit now is the research question, I like the AWE setup, more than likely will get a set of 17's and some slicks for the 1/4 soon as well

Having a hard time not getting this set of Rims I found for 450 as well, Either the Scirroco style or the 35th style... Both are about 6lbs lighter a rim than the Detroits...

Few pic's from Tampa VA today;-)

Still haven't installed the springs on either car

Already have 11k on the Jetta and 9k on the GTI though tired of rigging my bikes so bought the next mod earlier today, Votex base bars

Pics when they get thrown on and hope KefferVW ships them fast

Here's pics of a massive road trip I took this past weekend, well of the aftermath

Damn iPad pics edited in later lol

Actually got out of work early today, know what that means

034 Dogbone mounts thrown in - PITA by the way, and H&R SS springs, more pic's probably at the track tomorrow night. No alignment yet.

Springs were straight forward install, used Rockerdans pic's for a glance then tore in, done in under 90 minutes, her Jetta is next

The Dogbones, holy NVH, it's ****ing loud at idle, and up to around 1500 rpms.

Car feels SO much quicker though, just between turn in, lack of body roll, and no wheelhop so far, track tomorrow will tell te tale though, I'm hoping for reduced 60ft times and that will make a big difference on the big end.

Anyway, has some settling to do still, will put right at 150 miles on it before I gt the alignment done, anyone have the alignmetn specs?

    Before

    During

    After
