Just moved to Dallas and really want to trade my truck in on a Golf R, but I know that I couldn't wait until the warranty expires to go stage 2+, anybody know any dealers that are mod friendly in the DFW area?

tricky... i wouldn't say there are dealers who are, but rather there may be a few service advisors you can get along with.

my best ally was Baron French at Metro VW in Irving. my car is modded all up, and he still took perfect care of me my whole warranty including getting me a free loaner every time. when i first met him i gave him a tour of my car and all its mods.. i was totally honest with him hoping to avoid surprises on both our ends, and that seemed to work.

Kenny Smith at Boardwalk is also great, but i didn't have much experience with him, although he did replace my leaking cats at 65k while i had a combo flash (ECU & DSG) and a CBE... no complaints from him, and he threw in a loaner as well.

park place and rusty wallis didn't want nothing to do with me.

just my experience, hope it helps. if you see Baron, tell him i said hi (David with the grey modded mkV R32).

Good to know, I wound up picking up the 2-dr base CSG Golf R they had on the lot at Metro VW. Haven't met Baron yet, but I will when I go into get my tint done in in the next week or so, I'll tell him you said hi.

Know of any VW clubs in the DFW area? I want to get out and meet people who are into the euro scene, but I can't find any other than the new beetle club, which obviously isn't going to work. I know they're around, I saw a MKIV .:R32 the first time I got on the tollway to go to work and I was like, "fffff uuuuuuu break in period!!"
