So I'm waiting on my Golf R to come in and I'm already starting to buy parts for it. I would like to add a little bass. I've seen online some guy nik brewer making these uber-stealth audio options one of them being an under the rear cargo area box. Does anyone have any input on this set up. I'm not looking to get crazy bass but just some nice clean lows that hit hard enough to know theres a sub in the car. I like the idea of not using up space with a sub. Does anyone have this guys contact info? I would like this set up with the best sub and amp that will fit. Thanks in advance and sorry if this has been discussed in here before. I'm not a car stereo guy and I don't usually venture over into this section of the forum.

The type of installation you are talking about are normally custom installs dealing with fiberglass. Any reputable shop should be able to accomplish this style of install. If you are looking to just add a little bass, a simple 10" or 12" woofer designed for a sealed box, and an amp that matches the sub would suffice.

Again, go talk to a reputable shop, and look at their install book. Make sure that if the book is full of fiberglass installs, that the installer that performed them actually still works there. Normally a shop will keep the same book for years, and installers move around.

I know Nik and own one of his enclosures (he's about an hour away from me). His boxes are very good and you will not find it cheaper anywhere else. I received quotes from audio shops and was told about $400 for a sealed enclosure. I don't recall the exact price and I'm not sure of Nik's current pricing, but mine was almost half that. It comes carpeted and looks like a factory match. He's really good about getting back to people via email, so I'd ask and see what he says. bluegtiAThotmailDOTcom
