If I were you I would check out evolution racewerks sidemount intercoolers. I do beleive they are the best side mounts for the s4.

If you want to pay 1/3 of the cost of ER's i've got a set of used RS4's complete with shrouds and OEM brackets and hoses for $500 obo plus shipping.

Depends on what you want really - lots of stuff to do to make a FMIC work. While there is trimming involved to get these to work - it is pretty limited. Having the oem brackets really helps as well.

Personally I won't run a FMIC because it blocks too much of the radiator and i'm having cooling problems on track as it is.

Yea I was just curious which is better between the rs4's and a front mount because i just dropped 525 plus shipping and handling for the jhm front mount and then I came over here to check this thread and noticed these nice looking rs4's for 500 which made me wonder which is more superior. I really do not want to hack up my front bumper even though its not much but then again I didnt want to drop ~1500 for er sidemounts with shrouds. So i went with jhm and I am sure I'll be happy with my decision in the long run. But which one performs better?

Also, yes, these look like legit rs4 intercoolers and I would go for them if I were you. Especially for that price.

not to ruin anyones sale, but rs4s and FMIC both suck for these cars. ER or AWE or wagner or AMD ... thats it. dont bother with rs4 or front mount

While those are superior SMIC's - RS4's don't suck as bad as you make them out to be. I've run these on many track days with 370whp on 91 and they did fine. Anything more than K04's and the others make more sense.

They also all cost considerably more.

The FMIC has significantly more heat exchanger surface area than the stock SMIC, RS4 AND the fancier ($$$) SMIC.

I did comparison calculation once, have to look for it and post.

IMO: anything over plain jane K04: FMIC
