As much as I enjoyed the Saturday morning caravan to SoWo last year, many of us have decided to head up to SoWo on Friday this year instead. It's been discussed at get togethers and at Wookies in the Woods that a Friday morning caravan be setup for those of us opting to head up on Friday. We threw around the idea in the SoWo forum, but for the sake of keeping it simple, I've moved the discussion here to be more visible to the locals.

As per the discussion in the SoWo forum, the departure point below seemed to be okay with everyone:

Plenty of parking spots in the Einstein lot. This likely won't be as big of a caravan as the one departing on Saturday. Speaking of which...

I need to sort out what I'm doing. Def hitting SOWO on Friday and possibly again on Sat. Do I really see myself getting up this early and staying till the Klutch party at night to drive back home and do it all over again in the AM?

Would love to join, but I'm not planning on leaving the house till 10AM, and I'm about an hour south of Einstein's w/o taking traffic into consideration.

Sorry about that! Guess I assumed everyone knew what weekend SoWo was. SoWo is the weekend of 18May. This caravan is for Friday, 18May. Have you moved to Atlanta recently? Your profile says you're from the Delmarva.

I've got two buddy's coming along with me (as in riding in my car). It'll be their first time to a show, especially a VAG one.

I was going to head up Saturday but things changed I'm going to be there Friday now. Its going to be my wife and I in my b4 passat. And then some briends from ohio. One in a bmp 20th and the other in a mk2 vr6 gti.

If this is still happening, I'm in. Gonna leave Chattanooga about 6:30 or 7am-ish, I guess. I have a room booked for Friday and Saturday, and the Chattavegas cruise is leaving Saturday morning.

Well, for starters, bagels for breakfast. What is that nonsense (is einstein bros any good? never been, though i am certainly going to try it). Then, an entire weekend filled with watercooled VWs and driving in the mountains and large convoys of hatchbacks and turbos and

PS: I am staying at Alpine Village, which is right near the Helendorf and Bigg Daddy's and everything (same place I have been the past few years, it's where people were doing burnouts last year). It was going to be me +1, but uh now it's only me, so if anybody needs a place to crash, there you go, just PM me or ask me in this thread or say something to me next Friday or Saturday or get in contact with me some way (in February I stayed in a $14 hotel in Reno with a guy I'd never met so I'm not really nervous about random people)
