Megasquirt 1 v.30
Alright, the current setup in my car is as follows:
Schrick 276 Cams
HD Valve Springs
Euro 50mm Intake Manifold
Dual Outlet Exhaust Manifold
Techtonics Catless Downpipe
ARP Head Studs
I've liked this setup and it's been good to me, but I wanna change it up a bit to be a little more competitive for auto-x, my favorite sport. I've played with the distributor timing before, but I've finally come back and settled at factory 6*BTDC. This just feels right to me.
Now I've had 2 different setups in mind and I'm looking for the one that'll give me the most overall torque/hp curve. I will start with a picture of my dyno last year. I hate to say, but I don't know where the ignition timing was during this run. Keep in mind, this was done on a dyno dynamics, which is the lowest reading dyno out there.
Now here's one setting I had in mind:
Keep the Schrick 276* currently in there
Buy adjustable cam gear and advance that *4
From what I've read, this brings back some of the cars torque yet the cams still manage to make peak power at redline.
Here's the other setup:
Swap the cams for TT street cams which are 254*
If anyone would have better setup to possibly go with, please voice your opinion. Like I said, I want to play with a different setting for my car to be a little more competitive and how my motor sits I feel holds me back a little bit in auto-x since I'm in such low rpms most of the time. I don't want to go with a setup that'll be all about torque though because I do want to start going into more track events as well where I'll be in the high rpms most of the time.

Don't over think MS, Its not that hard. Its worth it. Any SEM is worth it. Years ago when I did my first build 2.0 16v with just Auto tech cams it made 132hp to the wheels. I did MS, tuned it my self and made 154hp to the wheels. I know that it had more but I was still learning.
There is nothing wrong with CIS, people make good power with it. But when you start upgrading you need to be able to get all of the power out of what ever you put in..

We have tried three different setups in our ABF.
Setup #1 was a bone stock ABF (real deal imported) (140whp)
Then rebuilt the motor with 11:1 pistons and AutronicSM4 and a TT header and TT 268 cams and 100 octane
Picked up about 10hp and a few tq (but was on a different dyno so who really knows) (149whp)
Then, swapped in a set of TT 288 cams and a cone filter and took off the muffler
Picked up another 40hp (190whp)
Put the muffler back on and certainly lost a few hp but not much and no dyno since.
