    How to clean your engine air filter

    I have a K&N drop in air filter. I have seen special cleaner advertised to 'recharge' these filters. http://www.ecstuning.com/Volkswagen-.../K&N/ES517994/ are these types of cleaners necessary? Can you just use water and let it dry out well? This is my first performance air filter that is supposed to be 'lifetime'

    Don't use just water. Use the cleaner and recharge stuff. Too important a component.
