I don't mean problems from Modifying, CELs and what not.
I am talking about Design Flaws from VW.

What would you have done different if you were one of the Engineers?
and again, I don't mean "R63 GT40 AWD" none of that, not that i wouldnt like it. but... for instance, i would have liked to see IRS and Pop outs... for the 2 door models, of course.
Also would have been cool to have the option of the AWD models. they're available in Europe, but not here. wtf.

    so,
what do you NOT like about your MK4(s)?

I hate it that the center console is not always changeble..
The basic center console has no inlays.. The black console is in 1 part..
The R32 and some other cars have inlays..

Now i cant change the inlay, but i need to change the hole console..

They make lots of noise once broken, are expensive to fix and make the car feel like the wheels are gonna fall off sometimes. Which they very well could if you don't cough up the ~$200 to fix them.

^^I've got a lock that's fallen into the door. Fun times.

I hate my power windows, when it's cold, they randomly fall off track. That's always fun to tear apart the doors when it's cold out! And those stupid clips on the inside door panels?!?! Those are junk too!

It's all pretty much been stated above:

No 4motion options in the US (except .:R32, Passat, and to add- extremely limited 4motion Passat with manual transmissions!)

    Plastic headlight lenses

Gear ratios for the OEM 2.slow 5-speeds. There is absolutely no reason why the gear ratios should be that short. I feel like VW really screwed 2.slow owners out of a lot of freeway MPG because of that, but at least I can cruise around town in 5th at 25mph

Just how drastically underpowered the 2.slow motors are from the factory, and no factory options for a 16v either (in the states at least).

Lack of VR5 motors in the US.

    FWD sucks sometimes.

You've listened to that voice for so long, you believe it to be you. you believe it to be your best friend. Where's the best place an opponent should hide? In the very last place you would ever look.
The greatest con, that he ever pulled, was making you believe that 'he is you.'

Your door microwitches must be bad. The car is not supposed to lock itself once a door is opened.

So I guess this could be something I don't like

Door Microswitches. What ever happened to the switch that is physically push in by the door when you close it?
