I want to put components F+R in my 2003 Jetta GLi. Was wondering what are the ohm load of the factory speakers. I plan on installing a 4 channel amp in a few months but wasn't sure if the amp could take the aftermarket components. Also wasn't sure if I should do it the other way around and install the amp first and then install the components later.

    Thanks

Front woofers, front tweeters and rear tweeters are 4 Ohm and all are powered at 20w (IIRC). Rear woofers are 2 Ohm and powered at 30w.

Oy, how the hell is that wired? Crossed over in the amp?

Yup, the Monsoon amp is also a crossover.

I plan on doing the same with mine, but am going to wait until I get both at the same time.

But if you are hard pressed to do it, then install the speakers first, without the passive crossovers. Then after installing the amp, run the outputs of the amp to the passive crossovers, and then hook up the factory speaker wires to the outputs of the crossovers.
