It's a bit late, but since this car will never be completed, I figured I will make a build thread to compile all that progress into one thread.
Little history; Bought the car used, with 59 miles on her. Yes, 59 miles is correct, I was searching for the perfect 20th AE but came across this '05 TR GTI and couldn't pass up the deal. It has been a long road from the starting point up until now, but I wouldn't trade it anything.

the APR intercooler is so efficient, but it fits so damn goofy behind the bumper! car looks good though, good job![]()

Spend time in salem, ma? I think I drove passed you when you had the pre painted shaved bumper.

Ya is does fit goofy, nothing I can do about it except maybe adding some washers to the bolts where is mounts to the bumper support.
PIA but they came out awesome
whats up CJ
Yes, I was visiting a buddy of mine. I think I remember passing you, but it was dark out. Those roads are terrible.

Some progress on the awp valve cover. Sanded with 80 grit and 220 grit. A long way to go before full polish, but its a start.

Yes, I think so myself. I went with a bit more poke in both the front and rear with 30mm adapters in the front and 35mm adapters in the rear. Will get some updated shots at Staggered this weekend. Hope to meet some of you there
Waiting for a frame notch and then is can install these
And I need to still buy the tranny side mount and polish it aswell

Unitronic 2+ frankenturbo 440cc file. i dont know if they are this programing this file anymorei think they knocked it back to the 415cc injector size file, but you could probably still get it. Sounds like your motor is all ready for it. You have your exhaust and intercooler done. Just need injectors and the kit. I pieced all mine together because NAM wasnt selling that nice big kit when I got mine. I got mine brand new from FT.
If your looking to spend a little money and get god return it is a great kit. But after everything your still spending almost 2k. Where you could find a gt28 kit for relatively the same costs. But it all gets down to tuning and what you make for hp![]()

this kit: NAM
seems like a lot of cash, The FT kit by itself is around $1100, Add in the Uni tune, which was $650, injectors are around 50 a piece. through in a MBC and all that hardware to do it right and you are right at about $2100. So its more of a convenience deal than anything. See if you can bargain with them to knock $ off for no software. then get it done at waterfest this summer for $550, thats what I did and was able to take care of all my emissions, haha, well i guess we will see soon enough.inspection this weekend!
I have a feeling I will get busted for no cat rather than a sai readiness code.

Been looking into emissions deletes, washer res and coolant ball delete and power steering res relocation.
Deleted the washer res, and rerouted the passenger side wires through the upper frame rail.
Ordering emissions delete kit, catch can, new spark plugs and the intake manifold spacer to stop the heat transfer into the manifold.![]()

Been a little while since I last posted, but got some good progress on cleaning the bay.
Got most of the passenger side wires tucked. Still need to figure out the 02 sensor, abs sensor and A/C sender. Any thoughts?
Washer res and lines are deleted
Coolant ball deleted
Power steering res is relocated to the SMIC bracket.
HID Ballasts are tucked into both fender wells and wiring harness is cleaned up and tucked.
Still need to order emissions delete kit with catch can and relocate battery to hatch.

Some updates are as follows
Reflashed my APR software to Stage II at Waterfest. Seems to be a little more powerful, but APR has no listed specs or power gains.
Lost headlights in NY on the drove home to Cape Cod MA from waterfest. Not a fun 4 hour drive at night. Luckily our cruise hung together and my foglights were enough to get me home. Turns out the ****ty roads in NJ shock the headlight assembly and pinched a wire, causing them to short out. Three fuses later and some brush electrical tape, they are back in proper working order.
Got the boser hood completed and painted prior to Waterfest. Only took me a year, but was worth it.
Picked up a trany side VF mount to polish and finally get those in. Need to find some tubing for my frame notch aswell.
To do list;
Polish tranny VF mount
Install polished VF mounts and spacers
Finish polishing valve cover and install
New fender liners
Paint front lip of R32 skirts black in wheel well
New badgless grill, snapped current
Paint new badgless grill and side rub strips back to TR
Relocate battery to trunk
Rebuild Fk silverlinesF*ck Bags
Get Audi 90 strut bushings to give the struts a little more travel room.
Figure out BT situation and software before deleting emissions![]()
