So i found a 225hp with 140,000 on it for $5000. it has most the basic bolt ons already but he says it burn about a quart a month and he thinks it's the turbo. What would you all think? I'm hopeing for just a turbo rebuild and it be good!

Burning oil? Is the turbo really blown or is that just what he's saying? With 140k it could be more

Honestly I would pass. It seems like it was beat on by a kid and will have more hidden problems. Plus the cars dont get 30mpg and his mods will not give you almost 300hp. Seems shady to me

Front passenger's side is scraped up pretty bad. He might be thinking he's getting 30 mpg from the onboard computer but in my experience it's not accurate, real world is 23-24. I'd pass even at 5K, you can still find nicer TTs that have been better taken care of.

Maybe the screen says that but that's not a consistent reading. My screen says I get 200mpg ever so often so I must get that? Mine averages 25 with my style of driving and that's around the average with maybe + or - a few

Ya James but you also have lots of hills and high traffic, that effects your gas milage more then you think.

True but that's a huge stretch for our cars.

    what he said !

wait and find a good one. pay the extra up front. or you will pay out the @ss after you get it.

i know someone who bought a 01 with super low miles on it. but the previous owner played around with engine too much after a year so many engine parts were replaced and hes still taking it in every couple weeks for stupid things that i havent had to replace yet and i have higher mileage.

if you can find one that someone babied and has all the papers and reciepts. thats what i would go for.

This. It took me months to find what I was looking for, but I finally found a clean, low milage TT that had not been abused or messed with. The dude who was selling said it was his wife's car, and she worked from home so it sat in the garage most of the time. A stack of receipts showing where it had been maintained regularly sealed the deal for me. I paid a little more than what I was planning but it was the nicest TT I had seen. Three years later and I'm still in love with it.
