I am in the process of collecting parts to replace my radio. I intend on replacing both the speakers and the headunit at the same time. However, I wanted to know what is the best way to do this. Should I use the existing wires and wiring harness?

I was thinking I could remove the current speakers and connect them to the wires that are already there but something tells me maybe I should upgrade the wires as well. When I do this do I go all the way back to the harness that connects to the radio? I am concerned about doing this because of the K Line involved.

So it is not necessary to run new lines?

And I assume the wiring harness behind the radio could then stay the same.

there's actually wiring adapters you can buy. twist the HU wiring on to the adapter then the adapter has a plastic plug that will accept the volkswagen plugs. no cutting of wires necessary.
