That's why you don't take it to the cheapest body shop.
I would tell whoever paid for it that it is effed up still.
looks like bent rad support wasn't replaced

My sister has a 2007 Rabbit 2.5L and was recently in an accident where her cars nose met another. Not terribly fast, it was a yield sign, but it definitely messed up her bumper and looked like it had done some other stuff.
Anyway, fast forward to today. Her car has been "Fixed" but when I took a look at it, they really did a crummy job. Looking down on the car, the right fan is actually touching whatever is behind it, her intake was not put back together properly, and I don't know if this is just me not knowing how her car was pre-accident, but the hood seems like it overlaps a bunch more than it should.
In addition, she had a CEL come up yesterday, P0480...for...Surprise!...Cooling Fan 1 Control Circuit.
So I don't know if the fan isn't working because it's colliding with the wires, etc, or if it isn't connected because they put it back together, realized it was touching, and just didn't hook it up.
Anyone know if there is some serious damage here or is it simply that the radiator was pushed back a bit? She's supposed to drive from PA to Massachusetts tomorrow...I'm hesitant to have her drive it that far if it is unsafe.
Here is the hood. It just seems to be a pretty large gap to me....

no. have the shop do a proper job, you dont want the fan blades braking.
that equals a very powerful vibration, strong enough to give a female an orgasam.
not to mention the price of the fan and labor.

I love it when people make threads asking for help/suggestions then make excuses on why something was done this way/that way after receiving advice.

lol yeah, that's no bueno. you'll probably be fine without fans on the highway, but if you have to stop, you have a very high chance of it overheating.

Yep that job was not done correctly. Two options, take it back and have them do it properly or contact the insurance company and tell them what happened so it can be addressed by another shop. I would ask some of the VW dealers who they take cars to to have body work done. There are only a few shops down here in Richmond that do good work on VWs...
