I figured this would be of interest and I was sitting around on Facebook today and saw a post by StreetSweeper.NW and it was about an application for iPhone and Android called Slammed Navigator.

Apparently it's still being worked on but here's a description from their site:

"Slammed Navigator was thought up and built by a group of import car enthusiasts in the Seattle, WA area." - Slammed Navigator

"Slammed Navigator is a navigation application specifically built for lowered vehicles who have difficulty getting from place to place while avoiding potholes, uneven roads, bumps and more."

Best part is it's going to be free; "We will never charge you a penny to use Slammed Navigator, nor will we ever bombard the application with annoying advertisements."

    Link to their site:

    www.slammednavigator.com

I'm looking forward to the release of it

If that was meant as a snide comment then please explain how this is any different than using a gps? I know a lot of people who use gps on their phones and have mounts for them..

it's sad that this is going to make my day, if we can just add an option to avoid sharp objects (broken glass) in/near seattle we'd be set for those random times...
No, your cars are not cool, mostly because you drive like Helen Keller after a few shots of tequila.

I don't know about you but I like to plan my routes before going somewhere, especially if I'm not sure of the area or taking foreign roads.

It'd be cool to have a setting that will beep at you if you're headed towards bad road conditions (so you wouldn't have to manually look at your phone).

I am glad people are into this stuff and hopefully it is useful to some people, but what ever happened to looking around and using your brain? I feel like people can't survive without a screen telling them what to do. You are free to call me a hater, but I am going to continue to look at the road and not a screen.

Well put.. and I understand where you're coming from. But if you're traveling to an area you've never been I think it would be useful so you don't get yourself stuck/screw up your car due to something you couldn't see.

They should tie this in with an airride management app so the car automatically raises itself up in areas where the road sucks.

So the closed beta just got finished up and I was lucky enough to be one of 55 to get in. But Slammed Navigator has now moved to open beta. If anyone wants to get in let me know and I can send you the email with the application and instructions and all.

Lol as of right now its only available for android. The email i got from them said as early as monday, for iPhpne users. But... the app relies on people marking hazards on the map, and the gps routes around the hazards... kind of useless right now because nobody has posted any thing.

Just because you are unable to view the markers doesn't mean that they haven't been posted. The application only populates your map around you within a 1.3mi radius. The reason they did this is to not overload your phone with markers that are no where near you. Go add markers to help others!

I've added more than a half dozen markers so far from Seattle to Everett. Since I drive around delivering parts all day I travel a TON of different roads

I was just thinking about that haha. Makes sense that you should be able to contribute quite a bit.
