My wifey surprised me with a present:

the NiteRider MiNewt 600 LED headlight. This thing is awesome, it charges from my laptop and I can use it anywhere as a flashlight... a VERY BRIGHT flashlight. 600lumens... damn. I thought I had some pretty bright led flashlights up until getting this, this thing puts them all to shame (even combined)!!

So what else is out there. Ive seen some even brighter units around 1000 lumens, I guess if you downhill at night in the forest then you need that kind of light?!?
Few people understand the psychology of dealing with a highway traffic cop. A normal speeder will panic and immediately pull over to the side. This is wrong. It arouses contempt in the cop heart. Make the bastard chase you. He will follow.

Been using a Magic Shine off ebay for the last 2 years. It's pretty damn bright and pretty damn cheap. Only thing I had to do was hardwire my extension cable after the connection got messed up.

Im using CygoLite 350 (350 lumens) very bright, I dont think I need anymore brighter that what i use it for.

For the tail- i use Cygolite 2W red LED-- also very bright (blindingly bright as reported by other cyclist on my last group long distance ride).
