I lived in Colorado. I drove to Cincy 2005. The only Scirocco person I knew IN THE WORLD was Eric S (81SciroccoS) - who I met via the Vortex (I think)

Anyway, I met sciroccojim at Cincy. He had this car:

He was doing sciroccojim things like replacing wire connectors with the correct awesome stuff:

I didn't remember that Jim lived in NJ after I moved to PA, but he did!

    My "Scirocco besties".....

Daun I met at a dYno day in Buffalo...and I remember because I had pictured him as tall and dark, much like Jim Jarrett. I also met Jim J, Brett and Julie there, and met "Frank" some Cincy's later....

Julie was busy setting a record on the dYno, and that has not changed, but the nature of the records has...she's been through a few cars since then!

Daun is to blame for many things, not to mention the current mess I am in with this Ercoupe silliness.

Drew, well, he drove all the way down here to rescue my son's diesel Jetta after the high school shop sheared part of the cam off. Just think of that eh? Driving three hours one way to fix some random person's car. I saw him as a knight in shining armour then and still do. He's been a fabulous friend and a great help with these wonderful little cars. At that point I had the silver car, most likely in her original peeling paint job, and he was driving Carrots, with the gas engine that has lived on in my Klausie.
There are so many other good friends on this board, but I will stop there.

I met Eric(SaltyWeasel), Shawn Meze, Jim Jarrett, Brett VanSprewenberg, Dan May, the Potter people and others whose names I have forgotten at Waterfest back in '98. Wow, that was a long time ago.

I met Daun, and a few of the "old" listers at waterfest back, well never mind.... I pulled up next to some Sciroccos and he immediately came over, shook my hand and climbed under the car to feel it. Get your minds out of the gutter, he was trying to see if the swing arm was bad. And Yes. It was....
Jan Folkson and Brian McGarvey took both of us to get some food and a great talk.
Jill and I drove home in awe of these people.

I blame Daun for my for starting my current car conditions and the people of the list for feeding it....
