Thread: head liners?

  1. 05-01-2012 01:07 AM #1
    hey guys!

I'm new here and I just got a 2003 GTI. The headliner is kind of falling in and I am wondering what the best fix is. the previous owner did the pin up solution.

Does anyone have experience with these "universal" liners?

    thanks!

You could just buy headliner fabric and some adhesive for less than $60 easy. Its a pretty straight forward DIY and I'm sure it would look a million times better than a universal headliner.

There are multiple write-ups in the FAQ section under interior.

    Just my two cents.

^^ i vouch for that. if the actual cardboard/backing of the headliner is in good shape i would take it out of the car and rip off the existing (saggy) fabric then recover with your design of choice from your local fabric store. a can of 3m90 and a pair of scissors is all you really need to make it happen.

i re-did mine with no prior experience and it's a lot easier to do than you think

if you dont feel like doing it yourself you can always find one cheap in the classifieds. i found my 20th headliner swap for $150.

wow thanks guys! SOrry I did not reply sooner, for some reason it does not notify me by email. i will look into fixing this.

I'm thinking at this point I'm going to redo it myself. I checked out ECS tuning and the only headliner i could find was not the right color and was $400

    thanks for the tips!
