Hey I got this car about a week ago. And Im already excited to have it. I got it for a good cost. It has a after market exhaust and a aftermarket cool air intake. It has about 75k miles. Seems the coolant sensor and the mass air sensor failed. I tryed to clean the (MAS) but I don't think it did any good. I just replaced the coolant sensor today. And I waiting on the (MAS) to arrive sometime this week.

As far as timing belt/chain whats a good mileage to go ahead and replace that. And as far as the plugs and wires. Ive read on here that there's really no need. And that the stock plugs are just as good. And if there are upgrades i could do that im not thinking of. Anyways any advice will be most appreciated. One more thing he hasn't switched it to synthetic should that be a no brainer?

    Pictures please!!!

Also, Mass Air Flow sensor = MAF.

Other than that, if you're at 75k on the timing chain you should be alright. Unless you've got noise or something. Stock plugs are fine to run, but then again, maintenance is paramount.

Good luck and congrats on the car!

Thanks for the response. I will add a few photo's later today. Im pretty happy with it so far. Plus the car has a story behind it too. A friend of my brother just got a new bww and this car was sitting for 3 months. Now this thing has had smoke damage due to a cig flying back in and landing in the hatch area on a pile of clothes. And the pass front panel smashed in. I just sent off for.

No real fire damage just a lot of sut damage. He also said that the ac,radio, and hatch didn't work. And i was buying it as is. I test drove it, smelled like a bonfire. But she ran good. But for what he was offering i couldent miss it. I almost feel bad for how much i got it for. But I work for everything so nothings giving to me.

But after fixing those things and hours on hours of cleaning the inside. Shes looking pretty sweet. I live on a HVAC tech's salary so any tips and tricks for the new car would be nice. Its like a ****ing gokart going beast mode!!!!! Cheers
