So its been a little while since I have posted on here. To catch you up I have spend 13.5 hrs so far detailing it and still have more to do but its looking great. The lock on my drive door would not release so I couldn't open the door. Tonight I tried it and magically it opened so I removed the door card and sprayed some wd40. Coming up is fixing the door handle in the driver door and trying to make sure it doesn't malfunction again. If anyone has any ideas to help that would be very helpful. Also if anyone has some ideas of anything I should do while I'm in there would also be helpful. Here's a pic of my car after its all cleaned up.
That's the best pic right now. In the light you can see were I'm still working on the trim.

So today I resealed the injectors. This was an interesting experience. The bently manual is next to useless. It has seemed to fix the weird starts I had. My idle and throttle response also seems to be better too. It will take some driving to find out for sure.

May have found the reason for my hesitation. The + wire running from my starter to my alternater has a nice big crack so th wires are exposed. The crack is right under my fan motor so I think its arcing onto it. Should be fixed today.

Starter wire still not fixed but I found this.
WTF this is a whole new distributer setup. Good thing I have 2 spare caps but what the hell happened. Only one side is messed up. Anyone got an idea to keep this from happening again.

Ok so today I just snapped the 4th or 5th alternater belt since I got my car running. It seems like it either is going to squeak or brake. I cant find a middle ground. Can anyone give me any info that might help. I'm tired of dealing with this.

Ok so I figured out why I broke this belt. The Damn bolts that hold the alternater on had loosened and one has fallen out.so for now its parked and will be fixed when I got some free time. I'm looking into new spark plug wires. Bosch wires are a bit pricey but I don't want crappy wires. Does anyone know of an alternative or a place to get them at a good price?

bosch wires you can get them in canada as low as 160 plus taxes( 13%). aftermarket german go for 100 i think.
what prices have you gotten for the bosch ones there?

BERU IS GERMAN AFTERMARKET
BOSCH OEM
OR SOME OTHER CHINESE BRAND. EVEN A A/C DELCO I CONSIDER CHEAP AFTERMARKET FOR A GERMAN CAR...![]()

OEM spark plug wires or bust. You can get the MK4 spark plug wires, direct fit, yet they have
a hanfle to pull them out which eliminates the need for of a spark plug wire removal tool.
If it was me, I'd go with Magnecor no doubt. Had them on my VR6 (around $100), NEVER had an issue.
8mm oversized, blue silicone cover.

Not at all. Stock size is 7mm diameter, Magnecor wires were 8mm and wouldn't fit in the slots on the plastic covers on the VR6 engine, is all.

So the other day I went to leave work and my started to spuder and die. So I had my buddy follow me to his house and we talked about it and figured it was a fule issue. We started with the prepump and filter seeing as how it was the easiest to get to. The pump was factory and filter had been replaced in 11/97 (on the filter) with a volvo filter (smaller hardware on the exit side than stock).fired it up and in cold start it was running was to rich and spudered and died. Out of cold start it ran rich and at a high idle (10k) for and hour with only momentary spuders. I figured the ecu didn't know it had a new pump and was pumping too much. Did the battery cable touch thing to rest the ecu. It seemed to fix the idle (9.5k) but it still spuders and dies. Im going to retime it again and check the new plugs but I thinking the pump in the tank might also be having problems. If anyone has any ideas of things to try I'd be happy cuz I'm kinda grasping at straws here.

The fuel pump I installed was a python fuel pump. Does anyone know if this is a ok fuel pump or is it junk?
#65
Ok so I replaced both fuel pumps and the fuel filter. Now at ideal it runs for a bit the just dies no spudering just dies. While driving it losses power (like it will die) then suddenly an huge increase in power. Like I'm flooring it then settles down to normal. Anybody got an idea as to what is going on?
