Thread: FS: 1991 Audi V8 - Western Mass: $1500 0bo

  1. 05-01-2012 01:53 PM #1
I'm gauging interest for my Audi V8 in an attempt to decide whether to keep it and continue to daily drive it, or to put my E30 back on the road. I bought this car in the Spring '10, and daily drove it until the end of September, at which time I took the car off the road. I bought the car from an Audi Tech, who works in the area, who had bought the car from a customer. He went through it and teplaced some of the wear and tear items. It still needs a few things to be a reliable daily, which I planned to get to this winter, but I havent been able to yet.

    InFO:

1991 Audi V8 Quattro - Automatic - Pearl White Metallic - Heated Black Leather Comfort Seats
3.6 V8- Selectable 3 way Programable Shift Settings
    Pretty Much Power Everything - Mirrors/Door Locks/ Trunk Lock/ Gas Cap/ Seats...ect..
Rear Window Shade - Memory Seats- Headlight washers
It has just over 180k Miles - Also it has a rebuilt title from a previous Collision.

    Good:
    New:
    -Timing Belt / Tensioner
    -Aux Belts
    -Spark Plugs
    -Valve Cover Gaskets
    -Water Pump
    -Thermostat
    -HeaterCore
-New Brakes and Hoses (Previous owner - Now needs Rear Rotors-See Below)
    -No UFO Front Brake Setup
    -Reg. Upgraded Brakes and Components
-Cv Boots (Needs One in from -See below)
    -Center Driveshaft Joints
    -Wheel Bearings
    -Heat Works - A/c Needs a Charge
    -Newer Used Tires
-15" Milli Miglia Thick 5 Spoke Wheels

    Bad:
    -Power Steering Leak
    -2 bad abs sensors
    -Rear Rotors
    -Head liner sags
    -Rebuilt Title
    -Front Driverside Outer Cv Boot

The main thing this car needs to be a good daily driver is to do the following:
-Locate a Power Steering leak (It burns off the exhaust a little-Noticable and Annoying)
-To replace 2 abs sensors ( replacement non oem can be had for $40 ea.- ask for info) These cause the ABS light to come on, It also will pull the car to the side slightly while driving down the road, I noticed it would start this when you apply excessive gas (i.e. heavy/quick acceleration)
-Rear Brake Rotors (The were replaced by the previous owner, but it had slight rust when I picked it up and they wore funny, possibly due to the Abs issue.and daily use); -
-Headliner sags a little bit in the rear ( I never really minded , also loose on the sunroof)
-Rebuilt Title - It was from the first owner I believe, Looks great, can't notice at all
-Torn CV Boot - Driverside Front Outer Boot has a tear, I noticed it when I took it off the road.

I am sure I left some things out so I will edit to update. I really wanted to keep this beast but dont need as many cars as I've collected. As Far as price I was thinking something around $1500. Seems like a good starting point.
New pics to follow. Here are Two from the Summer:
