Did you do daily or endurance?

So I've upgraded to K04, and also have put in a DXD Stg2 clutch/flywheel. The issue is that when it engages in 1st gear, it's jerky. No other gear does this, 1-2, 2-3 etc is fine. It's when I'm slowly engaging the clutch from a stand still, it's not a smooth event. Under WOT in all gears it holds just fine too, no slipping or anything else. Slight chatter at idle when the pedal is out, but it's what is to be expected w/ a single mass. I'm very sure that everything was installed correctly. Is this a symptom of an upgraded clutch? I've driven Dave's GTI w/ a STG 3 clutch, and it didn't do that![]()

My stock clutch was sticky like that when I first got the car. After about 1500 miles on it the stickiness was gone.
Have VCDS, will travel.

Got close to 3k on it... feels the same as the day I installed it.

I have the stage 2 daily, no problems here. Sorry I can't help ya.

I've got the disc only and it was super grabby for the first 3k miles and is just now starting to really smooth out. It depends on how much "stop and go" traffic you drive in. Yours might still just need to break in so that it's not so "grabby" when you are engaging from a stop.....try giving it a bit of gas before you engage so that you are starting out with the RPMs at 1k instead of 800.

Stage 2 (silent) Endurance here. It was super grabby for the first 1000 miles, but is extremely tame now. I actually like the engagement alot better than stock.

thanks, glad they're working out for you. How long have you had them/when did you pick them up? I know that you're K04, did you go endurance over DD with plans to up your tune in the future?

2500 miles on my stage 2 daily non-silent and no issues so far. engagement isn't as smooth as oem but i prefer the feel of the southbend.

Very tolerable. I don't notice it much except on heavy deaccelaration. At idle it's not bad.

yep, the reason I went Endurance was because I planned to go Stage 3+. I doubt I ever will since there are different cars out there (135i, TT-RS, S4/5, Cayman S) that I'm more interested in. I think it's a little more logical to build those platforms over a FWD. We'll see what's instore for the Golf R too...

Since I went to the strip on Wednesday, it's gotten 'better' I guess the disc was just super grabby, and a few hard launches has kind of mellowed it out. Feels a bit smoother when it engages now. They like the abuse I guess![]()
