99% of my invoices are e-mailed out. I would like to create a template of my stationary image that I can save as a layer and type over it for new invoices. When I need a hard copy I would simply print one out.
I used to be able to do layers in draw programs but I can't seem to figure out how to do it in Word.

OK, I tried that, but that doesn't allow me to move the watermark, and it won't print any darker than gray.
However, that is what I'm looking for. I want a template I can open that has my stationary design that I can save as a new document with text added, while keeping the original template.

I think Wordart has something like that. You can create a graphic image and keep it in the background so you can type text over it. One of those built-in graphics functions has that ability. I wish I still had my manual on word, but I gave it to my sis-in-law to play around with it on her new pc.
