I want to see what you're all using as a replacement for the stock H7/DRL/FOGS. So post up your pics and show off your new bulbs!
I'm looking at maybe 4300K or 5000K

I hope more of you continue with this thread. I've spent a couple of hours over the past few days reading threads here and looking for the best replacements for my DRL and H7 bulbs. There seems to be a ton of trial and error, to which we can all learn from those that have had faulty hardware.
For those that will continue to contribute to this, can you please provide the following information with your images if possible:
- Type of bulb
- A link to where you purchased them
- How long you've been running them
Thanks to everyone that will help make this decision for us left to do this easier!

Mainly its S-SE and some SEL are not as sensitive to Canbus.
GLI TDI SEL tend to have a smarter ECU setup and can detect minor errors.
So you will have to look at mainly people that had trouble with the GLI.
I got some left over HIDs thats should work on GLI w/o errors.

see if u like those

low beam or
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NOKYA-H7-Hyp...c30fe4&vxp=mtr
or hid setup
i got right now
http://www.ebay.com/itm/260888631439...84.m1497.l2649
+ ud need to get rid of an error so ud need error cancellers
n if u get flicking then u should get dual realay and dual in/out harness but then ull get an error because error cancellers capacitors dont wanna work tht way, but there are couple solutions get load resistors for each headlight and connect them with harness 50w56ohm but they get extremely hottt so it can damage parts of ur car, most likely plastic.... another choice is just to drive with an error.. thts what i do now)) 0r look on vag com and see if u can just disable low beam error out warning

Is there a maximum amount of wattage we can put through bulbs for a GLI?
I'm worried if I buy 70W bulbs for my low/high beams and 80W bulbs for my fogs, they'll burn out rather quick or something like that... Are those wattages okay to use?

I had 100 w on my old jetta n nothing happend if gli won't like it ,it will shut it off automatically by ecu ... Like mine did from hids on my gli. 100 just gonna be brighter n take more wattage

I like this alot...
What kits did you buy and where if you don't mind my asking? I'd love to run this exact setup. How's the HID output using Halogen bulbs? Is it all over the place or pretty good? Do other drivers beam you?
I was thinking of running a drop in HID Kit w/ some Euro Headlights. Perhaps a matching HID kit for the fogs?

dont have pics at the moment car is in the shop but HOEN will be your best bet with little to no problems. No problems with canbus and the output is almost the same. there is a thread on here about in the mk6 section. look it up. i love mine and they cost 80 shipped for the lows and fogs and they are 5000k

PMed some info.
The output Stronger than the Halogens.
It keeps the correct color since my wattage is low (So my Kelvin design get washed out due to power output)
No one High beams me. I even tested me driving another car while my GF follows me in different distances. The light is pretty much where the beam pattern is stock, just its more intense. So I like my set up =D

I bought these from ECS and they're great: http://www.ecstuning.com/Volkswagen-...hts/ES2526575/
They make my headlights look horrible though in comparison, so i need to find a whiter H7 to match.
