Thread: jersey riders...

    looking to get into riding mountain bikes. plan is to get my kid riding. needs a little excercise.
    so im thinking bout getting a couple bikes and doing weekend riding with him.
    im in central jersey and will be looking for places i can throw bikes on golf and go.
    obviously we are beginners. so looking for any local spots while we get going on the mountain biking
    thanks for any suggestions

    a great beginner trail (imo) is 6 Mile Run in somerset. Pretty much, smooth singletrack.

    thanks man. ill try and find this one first when we get ready for ride.
    thought we might try allure, but was told not a good place for 9yr old. guess we can start somewhere.

    You mean Allaire?

    Option 2... is the D&R Canal network. It's just a gravel path (for the most part).... then you can work your way up.

    that's how I started... a couple rides on a rail-trail, and then worked my way into the harder stuff....

    yea, sorry thats what i meant.
    i remember last yr we went to cheesquake. and that was a little hard on him. think i might have been a little hard on him as well. i want him to be able to ride and enjoy it. i might have messed that part up for him at cheesquake but want to try again. get out there and ride, and improve as we go.

    My coworker did the same thing to his wife at Cheesequake... pushed her too hard and she came out not liking it as much...

    yea man, wasnt my plan but thats what happend. gonna try and change my ways, and hope he enjoys the ride.
