Hello everyone, my name is Mike. I just purchased a 2012 Golf 2.5 3-Door. I come from the BMW world, but I have a family member with a pristine 2003 Passat so I know how great VW's are
Below are some pictures. I look forward to talking to fellow members and learning about the Mark VI Golf.
Hi Mike, that's a beautiful car! I too just bought a '12 Silver Golf 2-dr. Mine doesn't have the sunroof nor the upgraded radio/armrest.) I'll be adding front only factory mud guards shortly. I can't wait to change out the stock Continental's to something better. (Michelin Pilot Exalto's are my first choice.) Enjoy and many safe driving miles! Bill
I did look into the armrests when I bought the car. Something like $400 installed and I don't believe the rear a/c vents would be functional. I think I would spend the $ on better tires and prehaps new rims. VW chrome tips would be nice but too much $$$. I'll look into "Gibson" tips. One thing i wouldn't mind is the body side moulding I saw on a GTI recently. Looked nice, but the way VW accessories are priced, it may wait awhile! Bill
welcome and congrats!
can't believe that plate wasn't already taken.
anyway, i of course love the UK version, but i also like the US version, especially since Rutledge is on TCL and actually interacts with folks on the interwebz (he responded to my tweet haha)
I just traded my E34 in due to it eating parts like crazy and needing $3k worth of work to pass inspection. I loved the car and was/is very active on Bimmerforums.com. It was just time to move on. The Golf is very much a worth successor and it amazes me how it has more features than the E34. Well, now that I say that, it is 17 years newer, haha.
I like that the 2013 golf sunroof/conv package you can now get a leather wrapped multifunction sterling wheel, btw very nice golf
