Thread: b5 30V.. REASONABLE IDEAS?

    Low-ish mileage (117k)
    head gasket, along with complete overhaul of cooling system is being done this weekend. Curious as to any reasonable upgrades to do while the motor is in pieces. When i say reasonable, i just mean anything short of stroking or blowing it. Better anything out of parts being replaced? Wp, t-stat, throw it at me, thanks in advance. I would just like ideas.

    Oh, I posted in this part of the forums because I am curious about swapping parts from 2.9/3.0 v6 motors also.

    Not much out there performance wise for the 2.8L 30V's. With the heads off, do all the routine maintenance (vc gaskets, seals, wp, t-stat, etc.) and enjoy the ride.

    For performan$e, you'll have to move to one of the forced induction engines (1.8T or 2.7T), unless you want to PES (or single turbo) your 30V.
