I'm planning on setting up a GTG/Swap Meet at my warehouse spot in Oakland near Emeryville

Let's get this going. Can be as soon as this Sunday. Let me know how many people are interested that way I can make some space & arrangements Plenty of outside parking as well. If you came to a Bay Area Dubs meet in Oakland in the beginning of December, it's the same spot!

    OK. Let's shoot for Sunday.

    Date: May 06, 2012

    Time: 11am ~ 4pm (or whenever)

Address: 2600 Union St. Oakland, CA 94607

    http://maps.google.com/maps?q=2600+u...gl=us&t=m&z=14

Details: Will have a grill going & beer in the cooler. Bring a small table if you want to set up or just gypsy your wares on a blanket or out of your trunk. I'm fine to host people inside if the weather is not favorable. Let's grill, chill out, swap/sell parts & meet some new people. This can also be doubled as a tech day, if you have services/skills you would like to offer instead of parts. Excellent time for those of you who have parts up on the FS Threads to meet up with your buyers and/or test fit wheels, etc.

    Rules: USE COMMON SENSE

Note: Post parts/services that you will be bringing just to give others an idea of what's going to be available. If you need to use a jack or air tools, let me know in advance. If you have metal parts that you want to dump, you can leave them here to be recycled.
*PM me if you are going to do a suspension install, oil change, fluid flush, etc. Some equipment will be available for use.

Thanks & hope to see some people this Sunday!

Pretty much any day is fine with me. Regardless of how many people attend, I will do this on a weekly basis from here on out. For the next 2 months, this can be a hub/meeting place for parts trade, socializing, tech days, etc (no drama allowed) . Don't ask me why, for that is a secret

This is great. I like this idea. I can't make it this week but when my caddy is done maybe next.

This is sort of like a Wolfsburg farmers market.

^ Yeah considering the air cooled guys have been doing this for who knows how long, I think it's more than appropriate that we water cooled guys do the same

No problem guys! Still have some sausages & a full pack of steaks left over
Not a bad turnout for a 1st meet w/ excellent weather.

I will be having this again next weekend! The only question is should I move it to a Saturday, considering Mother's Day? Post up & let me know. Let's get some more people out here. Just for clarification, this is also being held as a tech day.

    Next Meet:

    Saturday May 12th, 2012
    11am ~ whenever
Food & drinks (soda & beer) will be offered but feel free to contribute!

See everybody next week! Like I said before, this is going down regardless

    ***ATTENTION***ATTENTION***ATTENTION***

Sunday, May 27th is the DENT REMOVAL MEET

Roy is kind and gracious enough to open his facility for us to hold it there. Justin from West Coast Dents will be the dent technician who is hooking us up. Just for you gear heads........Roy's shop has tools of every kind to perform any repairs you might want to do. Take the opportunity to do so since you will be there most of the day. Bring something to share to drink or eat for 2-3 people so we can make it a potluck "THANG". Thanks, Leo.

Gonna have to try to make it by one of these times. Great concept & as stated by DoctorDoctor, it's a DIY-kinda thing the air-cooled crowd have been doing for ages. I've been looking at doing the same kinda thing up here, if only to get out from under my storage unit bill. Might as well be putting the skrilla into someplace I can actually use for something besides just storing stuff.
