Materials for a hard top

In your honest opinions what might be the most durable materials to make a hard top for a mk3 cabrio. Keep in mind this needs to be light. I have a few ideas just want to hear opinions if anyone has any.

well id say fiberglass.. styrofoam with fiberglass or sheetmetal..
carbon fiber would be too overkill..
id go with thin sheetmetal reinforced wit fiberglass.. that was my plan at least for making a hardtop..

my only problem is how to hold it on the car at the trunk cuz there isnt much space there
