Own fault for leaving it somewhere where it can get ticketed like that. Sucks though...

They will make more $$ continuing to slap tickets on the windshield, and isn't that the point?

    The City of Harford....

    - Has ticketed me for parking in handicapt when there was no handicapt lines or spot. I took cell phone pics and was able to get it tossed.
    - Has tried to ticket by intitiating a parking ban near Burger Baby when it clearly wasn't even the 3:00 no park time yet. The parking maid gave me huge attitude over this.
    - Has ticketed me for waiting with flashing lights outside the Wadsworth and claimed I was still illegally parking. Lost that ticket...

I could go on. F*ck Hartford the the city should just sink into the river.

That happened to me once. Joke was on the city though as at the time I had attached plates that had no address tied to them so I never paid the fines lol. Luckily for me somehow they didn't catch on that the car was uninsured/unregistered.

I left my car parked somewhere in downtown Ottawa once, where it was okay to park there, up until a certain hour... my appointment went 20 minutes too long, and I had 3 tickets when I got back.

Back in my college days, I used to use my "parking in a faculty spot" ticket every day to avoid fines and having to pay for a parking pass. Worked flawlessly for 6 years...

Sorry, I should clarify, i'm not from hartford. This happened to me elsewhere, it's just standard meter-maid BS.

meh .. owner should take it to court (like all parking Violations) .. any competent Judge will consolidate the counts into a single conviction assuming these were issued rapid-fire with no chance for the owner to correct the Violation.

Parking Nazis are at the bottom of the Authority Figure food chain (right above strip-mall cops) .. I got one once for parking backwards in a reserved (closed) lot on the roof-level of a City garage .. in this case (judging by name/accent) I guess the Agent was more of a Maoist/Communist .. he actually showed up at my trial , at least I got it reduced by 75% (no visible prohibition signs on that level, oh well)

In CT there is a $25 fee to have a ticket reviewed. I'm not sure if they will be even willing to waive the $25 for additional tickets. If you lose you still owe ticket plus $25.

Wow .. not sure what's more absurd, that violation of due process rights or the fact that parking violations are a State offense and not municipal

good thing I'll never find myself in the State of Connecticut

Tickets are handled by the city, it isn't even a court case. At least for parking violations handed out by meter maids which are the case for the little printed stubs pictures by the OP.

If you want to protest you visit a city traffic violation office not a courthouse. No judge involved. As far as I understand they cannot force you to pay, but you won't be able to renew your registration if you have outstanding tickets.

I agree, **** Connecticut so hard.

I was passing through for a moment coming home from a world premiere of my buddy's dad's film, Tower Heist in NYC, and during the three-mile pass through CT, I pass, in moderate traffic, the signature unmarked state police vehicle on the side of the road.

Mind you, I was driving THE SPEED LIMIT with the flow of traffic in the middle lane, and when the traffic saw the cop, everyone slowed down like crazy to around 5-10 under. I was trying to change lanes because I was getting caught behind a truck and BAM, lights in my rear view mirror.

I get pulled over, he immediately tells me to "STEP OUT OF THE VEHICLE WITH YOUR HANDS UP, DRIVER"

...So I do just that, and he leads me to the back of the vehicle, passengers still in the car, and starts asking me why I am "speeding through the state of Connecticut" and why I am "riding up close on the vehicle in front of me" and when I calmly state where I'm headed and where I'm coming from (Back up to college in Ithaca, NY from NYC for the premiere), he doesn't buy it at all and starts asking me where I'm storing the drugs.

Where am I storing the drugs? Nowhere, you ***hole, you literally picked me out of traffic for no reason. So I insist, my car is packed with the weekend clothes of three people, as well as my camera gear, but no drugs. He asks to search the vehicle and I say, legitimately, that I have class to catch at 4 and I'm only just going to make it back at the moment. I also insist that there should be no suspicious activity by any of us or the vehicle. He tells me to wait.

So I stand there, on the side of the highway, next to my car. Ten minutes later, a K-9 unit rolls up. He tells me they're gonna walk the vehicle with the dog and if he signals, it's all theirs to search. What do you think the dog does? Of course he signals. They start tearing through my belongings and the belongings of my friends, and eventually come across a nearly-empty gram-bag of weed in my friend's luggage. They proceed to take everything out of my car and find nothing else.

I ended up getting no ticket, but my friend got a $300 ticket for having a single, pretty much empty weed bag crumbled up at the bottom of his backpack. Waste of over an hour of my time, and much harassment.

    I will never be returning.

That doesn't matter, fs454's post is ripe full of rights violations as it should have ended when he was questioned about the speed violation. I'd have asked the officer what the reason for the detainment was, and if he had no valid reason, ask if I was free to go. No RAS for the detainment and he still held me, I'd have shut up and called a lawyer after the fact and filed a lawsuit. No e-thuggery here either, it's what I really would have done.
