Thread: 93 fox cold start issues (wont start and runs rough until warm)

I have a 93 fox and when it sits overnight whether it be cold out or not it wont want to start up until i crank it 3, 4, or 5 times and then it will run rough until it gets warmed up.. if its off for a minute or 2 it will start up right away and run amazing so idk if its an electrical issue or a fuel issue or a combination

Check the throttle closed switch on the bottom of the throttle body to see if its come loose.....if "warms up" means about 5-7min then check the Aux Air Regulator for proper operation....also are the ECU/02 sensor ground wires still under the bolt on the Cold Start Valve blockoff plate ???

and it only takes about a minute to get it running correctly i wana think its the aux fuel pump bc the last owner replaced one but not both

After reading this again I'm leaning towards, fuel pressure bleed off (fuel inj drip).....I'd think if it was a fuel pump issue it'd do it all the time and not just on a cold start (I could be wrong) ? Aux air reg: its supposed to be open when cold and takes about 5min to go closed from when energized (key on or running), you can A) test harness for power B) take both hoses off and shine a flash light through it then when powers applied watch it go closed in around 5min. C) check the AAR units resistance wth values stated in the Bentley.
