Thread: A4 3.2 FSI misfire code help

  1. 05-02-2012 08:51 PM #1
Hey all, new to forum. Hopefully you can help me fix an issue.

    My car is an 06 a4 s-ine with a 3.2v6 engine.

Occasionally the car will start then instantly die.

When I restart it will crank nonstop until I give it gas. Then it will start and run normally like nothing ever happened.

90% of the time it has no issues whatsoever.

It used to throw misfire on Cyl 3 code, so I replaced the coil pack on cyl 3 and it went away.

Now recently its doing the not wanting to start thing more and more.

    Today I scanned the codes and it had p0301, p0303, p0302, p0300

If I understand this correctly its having multiple misfire and on CYL 1,2,3?

    Anyone had a similar issue?

Could it be the fuel pump, or the crank position sensor, or the cam sensors?

I've researched online a bit and cant find my exact issue, so I apologize if this is common knowledge.

    Thanks again!

There is a major recall on the coil packs,I suggest u contact Audi dealer book an appointment because if ur keep guessing u gonna keep wasting $ for nothing. PS:u need TFSI coils that's the new update! I have avant 3.2 and it's the same thing-up till now!!!!!

I have an 06 and I took it to the dealer once and told me there was a recall on the fuel injectors. They replaced them all. I had a similar problem with the car not turning and dying. It was the coil packs for me. Changed them all and the problem went away.

The coil packs for these cars are not the best. I always keep two spare coil packs in the car. Has come in pretty handy.

Sidenote: I had a similar problem with it not starting after I upgraded my ECU. The fuel pump wasn't dumping enough also it wasn't pressurizing the car properly before start up. When you open your door you here a whirr sound thats the fuel pump pressurizing. You can also just take the key and turn it to the ON position and it will pressurize some more. I would do that like two times and it will fire right up till I got the fuel pump replaced.

    Good Luck!
