He's on the KW V2's, not the Bilsteins. Just for your reference check out post #52 of this thread.

Ride Settings (Thread count, what is the dampening set on etc.): Dampening currently at 5F/6R. 4 threads in the front/7 rear.
      ride height is ~25.25 ftg

Ride comfort (1-10): 10. Adjustable dampening allows you to fine tune these to your liking. at 5, it's a bit firmer than stock, but absolutely a good ride. honestly doesn't feel like you're in a lowered car.

Quality (1-10): 10+ build quality is top notch, everything is booted. adjustments are easily done by large knobs while the wheels are on the car. ran these on my mkv as well.

Happy with decision? (Y/N, if no... why?): Without a doubt. easily the best money i've spent on the car (well, maybe the tires) the H2sport kit would have been amazing, but possibly a bit of overkill. i'm going to drive it to sowo as it sits and see how it feels at this height. might bring it up a turn or two (suspension travel is a good thing).

these coils don't go super low, so not for anyone who wants to dump their cars. max lowering is specified at 40mm.

      Picture of them installed:

i cannot recommend these enough to someone who wants a performance oriented coilover
Hey there, where did you get your PSS10s? I have PSS9's on my New Beetle Convertible, and I love them, but they are so harsh even at 7. I've had my R since Monday and already I'm noticing how loose the rear end feels when switching lanes on a windy highway. So 5 feels comfortable, yet stiff enough to improve handling? I am most likely going to go with these as I love Bilsteins--both my other VWs and my 911 have them. I'd rather have performance with a nice drop than be super low and have crappy handling.

Does anyone know if you can get PSS9's for the R?

OK, so I just ordered a set of H&R Prem. Street Perf. Coilovers and they're hard anodized Aluminium. My uncle insists that I should cancel my order and get something stainless steel, because they'll get eaten up during winter driving. I would imagine that there is some sort of warranty but I couldn't find anything on their website. Is this something I should be concerned about? Thanks, I hope this isn't too far off topic.

Thanks. How come they don't make PSS9s for the R? I don't set my PSS9s set to 7 on my Bug and that's very stiff. Don't need the extra setting...Oh well!

I ended up with H&R Street Performance coilovers. I was tempted to go with their RSS version but was concerned they might be a bit over the top for DD.

The fronts are set .75" from lowest setting, and the rears are 1" from lowest setting.

      Stock suspension as comparison

I will provide feedback once I log a few miles on these.

Eibach Multi-Pro R2's arrived today (along with some other stuff). Unfortunately, I have to call Ground Control in the morning because their camber plates don't fit the top screws. The quality looks top notch though.

Hey pdxR20, how do you like those VWRs? Now that you’ve had them on for a bit, any complaints? Would you do it again? This is one of the brands I’m looking at for coils, and I need more input.

      Thanks

PDXR20 - do you have more pics of this setup? I really want to run the VWR's if I don't go bags but would love a few more shots to see the wheel gap and ride height. Thanks - B

Toeball - weird, that intercooler looks smaller than mine (which is presently sitting on the floor behind me, doing me a lot of good right now) but mine's APR as well. Must just be a case of the angle's.

Mmmmm, willing to spend the money if it really is that great. Haven't you had experience with other sets on previous cars? Can you give a bit more thorough evaluation. It's lot to spend but I was in love with Ohlins on my Yamaha R and now that I have a VW R might need to go the same direction. Hate to bring this thread back from the dead but I'm really interested.

Yeah! I am going with the non-adjustable PSS's instead. They are a little over a grand and I don't adjust my PSS9s that I already have on my Bug, so I can't justify the extra grand for the adjustability.

When going over bumps on the throttle you notice the car bounce a little bit. Other than that I couldn't be happier with these!

Money is not an issue here, although the h2sport kit borders twice the price. I don't want to lose all civility as I still use it as a grocery getter and a grand tourer/ highway bomber.

I'll be installing my V3's once it warms up, probably in a few months.

I had them on my GTI, and the only thing that changed to the Golf R kit was uprated front dampers to compensate for the weight. Considering a base 2dr golf R is only 75lbs more than a loaded 4dr GTI DSG, I think I'll be ok.

Any review regarding install and most of all driving experience/feedback?

Why does everyone post 10 for comfort? Are you honestly telling me every single coilover rides way better than the stock set-up? Come on. People are trying to justify their purchase.

There will be no relevant comparison unless someone goes from one brand to another, but the fact that most people here really don't know what they are talking about leads me to not trust anyone's review.

I would love to get a nice set of coilovers (anything based on an Ohlin strut) but I think a linear-rate spring set will do.

I installed Bilstein PSS10's. I love them!!!! I drove them hard...very hard and they handle great.
