So I am researching doing a 16v swap on the newest 8v.

I have been reading all the threads regarding previous generations. How much of this applies to the mk6 2.0L.

I can fab all the necessary adapter parts. I'm most interested in the 9a piston compatibility with my engines rods.

Anybody know the engine code and rod specs (big and small end diameter)

Thanks elray and all you guys!!

    I am a spiritual medium.

Over the distance of the cosmos I can see that you are just starting your journey: still looking for your path.

If you want a 16V head on a 2.0 bottom end, in a new Jetta, your quest is to seek the GLI.

Best of luck on your journey.

no really. all jokes aside. This isnt the mk6 thread. its the technical thread.

I believe most who reply are actually interested in helping solve a question/or problem.

Not tell me why I should have bought a gli.

    I didn't when I had the choice.

    Cause it's a 16v already. With a turbo too.

it is most likely very similar to doing the 16v head on a 06X mk4 block. I dont see how in hell it is going to work without triggering codes and how you will actually get any usable power out of it as the management is still for a 8v.
