Thread: Keep & build my 8v or buy 16v (mk2 golf)

    so im not sure of what to do , build up the 8v in the car or get a 16v for it . what would be the best bang for my $$$ . what can i do to a 8v ? if i could id like to turbo it and a intake and chip it . but it seems to be hard to find them parts for an 8v . any links to help me would be helpful , or should i just build a 16v ? help thanks .

    I'm doing 8v all the way. But then again, I've done 16vs before. If you have access to a 16v, just go that way. Save yourself the hassle. Wait until you've been there done that and want to actually have something unique, but that will never be all that fast on a normal DD budget...

    16v swap, hands down.. best bang for the buck for sure. the 8v is never going to be a 16v..

    what year is the car in question? what injection system is it running?

    its a 89 . with digi . and yes i would love to find a 16v and slowly start building it . it seems like my best option .

    so get on the hunt for a 16v ? any tips on what to look for ? and when i get one the best place to start shopping ?
