unidentified ruber object under rear right roof flap

Long time no see! It has been a while since my last post here!

I found the pictured object while cleaning the hollow area under the rear right flap, where the right roof arch is stored with the top down.

Any idea where it could be from?

-The functionality of the roof is not affected.
-The object appears to be made of rubber and it is shaped as a stopper on one end. It also has a hole on the narrow part, so a pin or cable could be going through it and it also has some threads on the same end (the end that apparently broke).

Any ideas guys?
I need your brainstorming!

In india so I can't check ny car, but could be one of the feet the roof rests on when it is the lowered position

True!
I consulted with 2 techs in a VW dealership. It looks like a rest pad, and I have located a few similar pads, but no orphan ones in symmetrical locations...
I will continue looking...

By the way, I would like to take the opportunity and report that in August of 2009 they replaced (out of warranty) my windshield washer tank because it leaked through the joint.
Today they also replaced the flange of the washer pump. (I have the large washer fluid tank because I have headlight washers and heat insulating windshield, but no xenons).
