I recently bought a 07 City Golf, which is a Canada Only model. Hence, it is kinda hard to find the technical info related to my car. I understand most members here are US based but I thought i'd give it a shot anyway.

So here i'm looking to buy an aftermarket HU for the City Golf. From what i can gather, my car is essentially a MKIV, and it should be more or less the same with the 2000-2004 golfs.

Now, if i enter a 2000-2002 golf as my car in crutchfield, it will give me the following parts:

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_12040vw...na-female.html
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_1208690...val-Tools.html

and if i enter a 2003-2004 golf it would suggest me to get the following:

Here's a pic of my current deck

It's kinda weird because I googled a lot of pictures of different models of golf and they all have either double din decks or the single din deck which has cassette on it and a pocket on top.

Mine was a single din with no pockets and no cassette. So i'm not sure what i can make out of that.

Now, i understand that if i don't have steering wheel controls, i probably don't need the C2R-VW2 part so most likely i'm gonna be going the 2000-2002 route and get the pocket suggested by the 2003-2004 models.

So here is what I really want to know:
Some of my google researches is telling me that my car has 8 speakers(I only remember seeing 6 but i can look closer tomorrow) But the 2002 golfs for example only has 4(some even say 2).. if that is true, would the harness have enough pins/wires to connect all my speakers? would the harness even fit into the stock connector?

I'm asking this because I do notice that the product code for the harness ends with 701784 and the metra website has something that appears to be the same product with product code 70-1784
http://www.metraonline.com/part/Volk...arness_70-1784
and it says it will only power 4 speakers.

I'd really love to pull the deck out to check first but to do that i will need to purchase the deck removal tool first..it seems kinda stupid to do so before the purchase as the purchase (i was planning to get it on crutchfield) would give me the tool for free.

So yeah, to reiterate my question after all the long paragraphs(I apologize for that)
Would the harness suggested by crutchfield have enough pins/wires to connect all my speakers? or does it even matter?(This would be my first time to replace a car deck myself)

any comments or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
