I'm new to this site but I hoped to get a suggestion from someone about what my problem could be before I poured any more money into my jetta. It's a 2000 vr6 and the problem I've been having is stalling during hot weather, but only under specific conditions. It only does it about midday, not before 1 or 2 pm, on warm days (75+). After it has been sitting outside in the heat/sun for a couple hours (I get home from my first job around noon) when I come back out to leave for work around 3 or so, it'll stall every single time I slow down to stop or turn a corner. Just cuts off.. mostly I can start it back up once the light turns green or within a minute or two but at times it's died on me and not started again for 5 minutes or more. It makes the turning noise like it's trying to but it sounds weak and doesn't catch. The other thing I feel like may be important is that if I can make it to the highway by my house and run it at high rpms for about 5 minutes or so, the next exit I get off at it won't die at any stops. After it gets dark out and cools down a little it'll be fine too. I've read about it as much as I can online and it seems my problem is very specific, but there are many solutions. Just wondering if anyone's had the same problem or seen it and can put their finger on it for me.
