I'm sad to say but there is one less 20thae on the streets. I dedicated alot of time, money and research into this car for my wife. I put a k04 turbo, kinetic fmic, apr r1 dv, new brakes, sensors, etc.
and only 86k on the clock. All it took was one wrong move to end it all.
My wife hit the oil pan on something big enough to put a decent sized hole in it. we all know what happens next. Oil drains...engine siezes. Engine is toast and Insurance claimed it totaled.
It sucks another one of these limited edition cars is gone.

First, sorry that you lost a car

But, second, why did you claim it on your insurance? Of course it was going to total it.

But, I think unless you've actually taken the payout and whatnot, it's not totalled yet, ie, take the car, put a new motor in it (1500 or less) and be saved!

I took the payout and kept the car. I could swap motor but the car has some other nickel and dime issues that add up. The car was hurtin when I got it and and still has some imperfections. I'm not trying to really put any more money into it, but confident I'll break even.

    sorry, some parts already gone.

I wrecked my 20th. Damm wheel came off and ruined the front end. Interior, engine, and Trans were fine an the buy back was only 1500.

It was probably less money for keeping the car. You typically "buy" the car back from the insurance company, but that basically means you get $x for letting them take the car or $x-y for them to let you keep it.
