For the passats that have foglights with the cornering light feature, can I assume that the appropriate foglight turns on when making a turn to illuminate the corner?
There isn't a seperate cornering light correct?...Just the foglight on that side that lights up.

    Thanks

Just the foglights (The Eos, Beetle, Passat, Touareg and GTI use the fog lights, whereas the CC, Tiguan with xenons, Jetta [13' with xenons] use a cornering light located next to the headlight instead of the fog light. The Routan, Golf, and Jetta SW don't use cornering lights)

Under 20 MPH if you turn the wheel (lights in auto at night or lights in on) the fog on the appropriate side will fade on.

Under 25 MPH iF you put on your turn signal (lights in auto at night or lights in on) the fog on the appropriate side will fade on after about a second to two delay.

When the car is put in reverse (lights in auto at night or lights in on) both the fog lights fade on to create forward reverse lights.

I *love* this feature. Most people probably wouldn't think twice about it, until the streetlights on your block burn out and you can see as you turn into you drive way and avoid killing your cat.

I am just wondering how effective this light can be since it mounted so low in the bumper and how much illumination will be noticeable from the driver's seat.
The Tiguan (with Xenons) version is extremely effective imo during my test drive.

Trust me it is effective. Much more on the driver's side, but it is particularly effective when it is very dark since the fogs are sort of mounted to project out to the sides instead of just straight ahead like most fogs.
